Spring in London exhausts me.
You start craving sunshine, but it’s still cold, still grey, and damp. By March, I’m already mentally on a plane to Mexico, Bali, or even just the Canaries. Anywhere you can sit outside at night with no extra layers, have a drink, good food, music… and actually feel like yourself again.

And I swear, every time I go away I feel like a completely different person. I wake up earlier, eat better, look better, suddenly I feel like I have my life together.

The only thing I refuse to do is stress about what I’m wearing, but I also don’t want to pack loads, and I’m definitely not dragging a heavy suitcase around airports.

I love outfits that work for multiple situations like drinks → dinner → whatever after… I’m on holiday, and all I want to do is go with the flow.

That said, I still want to look fabulous wherever I go. And nothing makes me feel better than getting compliments on my outfits. I’ve chosen 3 dresses that are low effort but look gorgeous on holiday and also reflect what’s actually happening on the runways right now.

So these are the pieces I’d actually take.

Elise Knitted Mini

I’m not over knits, and I don’t think I ever will be.

They just always look more expensive, and this year especially, textured fabrics are everywhere. Tassels are also a key runway detail this year. Shows like Burberry, Ferragamo, Alaïa, Loewe, Nanushka, Chanel, and Bottega all incorporated tassels and fringe into their collections.

This one fits so well. It hugs properly but doesn’t feel tight, which is exactly what you want in heat. And beach locations are perfect for sequins, knits - anything that catches the light slightly.

The green is also one of the key colours for this summer, and it’s been all over the runways this season.

I’d wear this:

  • rooftop drinks in Tulum

  • Bali dinners

  • anything that starts casual but ends up being a full night

If you love a touch of drama, this is a look you’ll want to embrace.

Amalfi Mini

This is my safe and chic option.

Cotton in heat is just… necessary. Anything else and you start feeling uncomfortable, and then the whole outfit is off.

This dress is super easy, but the shape makes it look like you’ve actually made an effort. The bubble skirt gives that really nice waist without you having to think about it.

This year, runway shows like Dior, Simone Rocha, Keburia and others played a lot with exaggerated silhouettes. Even though lengths varied, the focus on defined waists with volume - especially bubble and puff skirts, was everywhere.

Bubble silhouettes are one of the biggest shapes right now, but this version still feels very wearable, both day and night.

Also, and this is very real, if I’ve had a big dinner or I’m a bit bloated, this is exactly the kind of dress I want to be in. The way it’s cut, it doesn’t cling to your stomach at all. The bubble skirt just skims over it, so you still feel put together without worrying about how you look.

And honestly, I love anything that lets me feel confident all day without overthinking what I’ve eaten, because let’s be real, we all get bloated sometimes.

What I like is how flexible it is:

  • day with flat sandals

  • night with heels and slick hair

Same dress, completely different look.

I’d wear this all day without even thinking about changing.

Sollore Cheeta Maxi

Animal prints were one of the key trends on the runways this year. Dalmatian, zebra, cow, cheetah, they were everywhere.

But cheetah print is still our favourite. Why? It works on every skin tone, and it’s easy to style. Some other prints are beautiful, but with the wrong accessories they can quickly look tacky.

This dress is so easy. It’s light, moves properly, not too tight, and just falls nicely without needing to adjust anything.

Maxi lengths are also having a moment again. It covers you perfectly for a beach club setting, but the sheer layer still leaves something to the imagination. It gives just the right amount of drama without doing too much.

I’d wear this:

  • at beach clubs anywhere

  • as a cover-up if I want to go for lunch after a full day in the sun

  • for beach dinners when I still want to look put together

During the day, I’d wear it over a bikini as a cover-up.
In the evening  -  statement earrings, nipple covers, black or nude bikini bottoms, sandals, a small clutch… and that’s it.

It’s very that “I didn’t try, but I look hot” energy.

Hope this helped with your next vacay outfit inspo. Have the best trip!

Love,

D x
